Poem by Ryan Lobo, age 14

Medals are a part of the sports family,

But very few of them get it easily;

People have to work day and night for it,

But from hundreds of people, only three get it.

Medals are the reason for runners to run;

If no medals, then no excitement and fun;

Joy, happiness, and satisfaction we get,

When we wear the medal on our neck.

But winning a medal may not always be possible,

Work hard and next time make it feasible;

No point crying at what has already been lost,

Don't give up and keep trying at any cost.

One day the medal will be yours!
